About Organisation
SAFAL was founded by in 2010 to help hardworking people in the developing India lift themselves, their families, and their communities out of poverty.
- SAFAL was captivated by the spirit and character of the M.P people. But he was appalled by the depth of poverty that surrounded him. SAFAL understood that the contrast between this poverty and his own prosperity came not from any innate difference between himself and a poor farmer.
- Instead, the people he saw struggled because they lacked the knowledge, skills and tools needed to lift themselves out of poverty. So in 2010, SAFAL – short for “technology in the service of mankind.” SAFAL as a different type of firm, one that would help poor people by connecting them to information and market opportunities.
- Today, SAFAL works with FPOs community to build competitive farms, businesses and industries. SAFAL have worked in more than 40 FPOs in M.P &UP assisting businesses and improving the incomes of Farmers.
Role of Safal
To create a forum for rapport building between the project staff and participating for effective and efficient participatory planning and implementation of the project activities. To help the participating core team and department ofAgriculture in getting feedback from the field while implementing the activities and in supporting, monitoring and evaluation system of the project.
To motivate and sensitize the member farmers of FPC, project beneficiaries, CBOsand rural communities. Solve the grass root level issues/problems, market issues, production and environmental impact of FPOs activities with an emphasize on participatory approach.
SAFAL is mainly facilitating market driven agricultural intensification and diversification by assisting farmers to become more competitive and able to take advantage on emerging economic opportunities. To facilitate active participation and capacity building of the FPOs members, FIGs, CBOs, farmers’ groups and women’s groups in the project activities under SFAC.
